Going Crazy
This week has been sooooo difficult. Everyday I came so close to just losing my shit on clients, people on the bus who sit too close or decide it's ok to talk to me the entire ride, my alarm clock, annoying co workers, inconsiderate pedestrians, the special breed of dumb-dumb(s) who decided it was a good idea to play Virgin Radio in our work environment (If I have to hear Ke$ha "sing" one more time...), just everything.

The Cat
Day 983 of my captivity.
My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.
They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed
hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the
rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to
keep up my strength.
The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt
to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet. Today I decapitated a
mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this
would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates my
capabilities. However, they merely made condescending comments about
what a "good little hunter" I am. Bastards!
There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was
placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I
could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my
confinement was due to the power of "allergies." I must learn what this
means, and how to use it to my advantage.
Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my
tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this
again tomorrow, but at the top of the stairs.
I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches.
The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released, and seems
to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded. The bird
must be an informant. I observe him communicate with the guards
regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have
arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe.
For now....

Freedom
I've been thinking more and more about moving out; specifically the freedom involved. Freedom to come and go as I please without having to explain myself or have anyone worry. Freedom to watch movies alone as loud as I want, while eating crunchy potato chips past 10:00 pm. And maybe most exciting of all, freedom to organize and decorate my very own space. I'm currently collecting photographs to help inspire (near) future ideas...

Lessons To Save
This evening, as I was reading through the random tid-bits of things saved, I came across something I had copied from a friend's FB profile caption. It read:
"Live in the moment! In the end, it really comes down to being able to survey the present and have appropriate emotional responses, be it rage, or humour, or love etc. Don't live in the past or worry too much about the future, it'll ruin your relationships, prevent you achieving your potential AND cramp your style." --Graham Mcleod

I had forgotten that I saved this, and now I hope to always remember it!

Le Banquier
This evening my cousin Benjamin won big on Le Banquier (the Qc version of Deal Or No Deal)!! As a competitive cross country skier, his goal is to compete in the 2014 Winter Olympics. The show was particularly special because it showcased Canadian Olympic athletes, all of them familiar with his plight of raising money to support his training.

A Fine Line
My sister Syb was showing me some videos from the Banff Film Festival which got me thinking about the line between someone's sense of adventure and just plain recklessness. How is it that society glamorizes those who decide to risk their lives and seek danger under the guise of chasing a dream? Here's one of the videos she showed me:
Solo: Lost at Sea
Here is a man who decides, in the name of adventure, to leave his son and wife behind to become the first to cross the Tasman Sea (between Tasmania and New-Zealand) alone in a Kayak. I can't help but see him as an irresponsible man, not a courageous adventurer...
