Mary & Max
Watched a wonderful film this evening with my papa. So funny, touching and creative ... and just plain amazing! This movie is highly recommended by moi and my finicky movie tastes.
Animals On The Edge
There exists a conservation program by London's Zoological Society entitled the Evolutionary Distinct and Globally Endangered (EDGE) project. The goal of the project is to protect 10 "focal species" a year- species that have few close relatives & are genetically distinct, that are threatened by human activity. A couple of animals on the list include:

TED Talks
My friend T introduced me to something that I now consider to be a great gift: TED Talks. TED is a small nonprofit founded in 1984 that started out as a conference revolving around three themes: Technology, Entertainment and Design. Today, encompassing a broader scope of relevant themes and topics, TED is "devoted to giving millions of knowledge-seekers around the globe direct access to the world's greatest thinkers and teachers". So I'm going to start a new series to this Blog devoted to posting some of my favorite talks. Here's the first, one of T's favorites, and truly inspiring:

Project Room
This "weekend" I had 3 days off which made me very happy indeed!
Wednesday, Day 1: Went to
with papa to buy my new desk, rearranged my room (and made the biggest mess) to make it fit, and went to see
in 3D (& beyond!)...
A very fun day minus T getting a parking ticket and some missing cheesy garlic bread...
Thursday, Day 2: Had the most typical type of day which involved going to the gym, visiting the spa for some much needed beautification, buying lunch, a little shopping before taking the rush hour bus home, and finally some more cleaning/organizing of my room.
Friday, Day 3: Last day to finish up Project Room before my week starts, yet I managed to fit in another workout, a heated lunch, and some shopping for desk related things!
Remember the before, now here's the result:

Day Off
Having some time owing at my disposal, I decided to take the day off today. I woke up too early, eager to experience a Monday of freedom. I went to the gym but had to avoid friends and regular gym chit-chat because I was on a tight schedule: rush rush rush home to commence the preparation of the the arrival of a highly anticipated new desk!! I'll be placing the new desk next to the current one to make one long amazing workspace. As you can see I have a lot of clutter (shoes) that needs to be organized:
So I got home, ate lunch, took a (too long) shower, helped make supper and dessert, watched Oprah (don't drive and use your cell phone at the same time!), washed my gym clothes, ate supper, ... and now I'm too tired to organize/rearrange my room.
I'm getting the desk on Wednesday so there's still time... Stay tuned, I'll be posting the “after” shot soon!

Dr. Randy Pausch
I really like the end of the lecture when he states the power of living your life with integrity: your dreams will come true.
So remember always to:
-Tell the truth
-Apologize properly
-Be patient with people
-Show gratitude
-Don't complain, just work harder!
... and things will fall into place, it's basic

Good Luck Mom!!
Tomorrow my mommy leaves for a three month long trip to Africa. With Terre Sans Frontierès, she'll be working for 6 weeks in the Mawenzi Hospital in Moshi, a small town in Tanzania.
The rest will be spent traveling: hiking Mount Kilimanjaro, venturing to Zanzibar, going on a safari, visiting my aunt Ferri in Seychelles, & her aunt Nimira in Nairobi Kenya, and lots more adventures! Mom, I admire your courage, willingness to help others, and sense of adventure. Papa and I are going to miss you!! Good luck :D
Bunny Chez Nous Part 2
This summer we had a special visitor: a bunny! He/she disappeared for a few months but now, every evening, it comes to eat some fallen bird seeds from the feeder. We started leaving out some special bunny treats and soon discovered its favorite food: apples (the celery stick wasn't a big hit with bunny wunny boo)!

I Always Wondered...
I always wondered about the origin of restaurants. The term restaurant comes from the French word restaurer meaning to restore. In 16th century France, street vendors used to sell soup to “restor” one's vigour. More places offering “restorative” nourishment began to appear until the first establishment known as a “restaurant” opened in 1765 by a Parisian named Boulanger.
