Owen & Mzee

Owen is an orphaned baby hippo who lost his family in the Tsunami. Mzee is a 130 year old tortoise who suffered the same fate, losing his home and family too after the Tsunami. Both were rescued and met each other at an animal sanctuary park in Kenya.

This picture was taken the day after Owen arrived, and ever since they have been inseparable. They swim together, eat together, and play together. They have even come up with their own form of communication!
