Week Off

Surrealist artist René Magritte once wrote that his favorite walk is the one he takes around his own bedroom. He didn't understand the need for travel because he believed that all the poetry and perspective you're going to get you already possess. Though avid travelers may disagree, I often feel the same way. I have a week off coming up, and people have asked me what I'm going to do, where I'm going to go. I reply with a tinge of guilt in my voice that I don't have any plans, but in all honesty, I wouldn't want it any other way. I'm not lazy, I'm just happiest in the comfort that my room provides, and wonder if I would feel any different if the scenery were to change.
